Cornelia's body was escorted by a long procession of sisters to the little convent cemetery at Mayfield. There she was buried as she had requested. Years later Cornelia's body was removed to an alcove in the church where she still lies beneath words taken from the Imitation of Christ, a book she often read with her husband, Pierce, as well as reading it every day of her religious life.
